Frequently Asked Questions

Event

What divisions will be competed at PAUC?

The event would like to host Men's Women's, Mixed, Masters Women, Masters Open & Masters Mixed. WFDF will release EOIs for all divisions later in 2023 and the final competition structure will be determined once the EOIs have been returned. If there is sufficient interest then we will host competitions in all those divisions. So if you're interested in competing, make contact with your National Federation and connect with your Ultimate network locally and internationally to raise awareness. Also note that a division requires a minimum of 6 nations to register in order to qualify for inclusion in the competition.

What are the deadlines?

There are a number of deadline. These can be found on the website here PAUC 2023 Bulletin (wfdf.sport)

Where can I find the event game schedule?

The event schedule is typically published several weeks prior to the event. This varies due to the changing circumstances of teams, players and even venues, however every effort is made to publish as early as possible.

What divisions will be included in an Ultimate event?

When a call for team bids is issued all divisions are included, subject to availability of fields. Once the bid list is firm and registration open (asking for team fees) each division will require 6 or more countries to register to classify the division as valid.

What will spectator access to the venue look like?

LOC is considering options to sell tickets to Spectators for PAUC. More information will be shared in a few months.

What will party access look like?

Limited tickets will be available for sale for unaccredited people wanting to attend - this is not guaranteed due to capacity restrictions (we only plan for accredited participants - not for spectators) More info will follow on the website in the coming months.

Fees

Does my fee include Insurance?

No it does not. The event holder is insured but insurance is not provided to each participant as part of their fee. All participants must ensure they are insurured whilst attending the event.

Do children have to pay?

Children below the age of 15 may attend the event and be accredited to a team so long as they are accompanied by an adult. Said adult must sign the Event Participant Agreement if they are accredited to a team. No such signature is required for children attending as spectators.

What does the Guest Fee provide me?

Guests (non-playing team support) are officially part of the team but not on the playing roster. Guests differ from Spectators in that Guests receieve a Player Pack, where provided, have access to official sidelines, meetings and tournament party, which are not provided to Spectators.

Booking & Reservations

Do guests (i.e. spouse staying with a player) need to pay the non-player fee to ride the shuttle?

Non-Playing Team Support (team guests who are not on the roster but are travelling as part of the team COACHES, PHYSIO, ADMIN etc.) all need to pay for the NPTS fee to attend the venue and to be classified a team member (access to meetings, party, podium, team only tents and areas, and event insurance) anyone who does not have accreditation (Player or NPTS) will be classed as a SPECTATOR - they do not get to access event facilities such as buses, party, team tents and any participant only restricted areas. If a spouse is travelling with the team and wants full unencumbered access to the same facilities as the player they are travelling with - they should then pay the NPTS fee. This is not a must - teams must work out for themselves what role their supporters play, and if they are a spectator or NPTS who has a function to do at the event with the team.

Do guests (booking their own room w/o a player) need to pay the non-player fee to a) book the room? b) ride the shuttle?

The accommodation rates include some funds apportioned to the transport - transport is also offset by funds incoming from Players and NPTS fees. With that in mind, the LOC anticipated only NPTS and Players booking official hotels would be using the shuttles to the event.

If yes, are the rates through WFDF cheaper than booking separately? If they book separately without paying the non-player fee, are they able to ride the shuttle to the fields?

As above, hotel rates include provisions for transport to the fields - so at this time, there is automatically some inflation on standard rates to cover the transport. LOC has worked hard with Domex to find and block book rooms to ensure availability for PAUC participants. There are surely some incentives to book through the official accommodation. Mostly - the advantage is the use of transport to the fields, and us building meal times around game times to ensure everyone is able to access their lunch both at hotel/off site if schedule requires.

When the rates say children 5-12y/o, does that mean that children under the age of 5 are free or not allowed?

Children under the listed age will not be charged. Children over the listed age will be considered adults.

Can the reservation dates be extended beyond the tournament dates?

Yes, please inquire with DOMEX to confirm rate and availability.

What's the difference between booking through DOMEX vs booking individually?

Incentives to book with the official hotel include transportation to and from the venue and logistical support. However, if teams want to book alone, they are then responsible for all logistics, bookings and transport.

Registration

How to register?

Spectators do not have to register. Only players and non-playing team support who wish to be accredted to a team are required to register. Players and Non-Players are registered by the Team Manager.

Can I provide scans of signed documents?

No. Documents that require a signature must be presented with original pen signature. Copies or digital scans are not accepted.

What is the Roster Lock?

Roster Lock is a date when rosters are locked with no further changes permitted. There are injury exceptions. Details of the Roster Lock can be found in the Player Breifing Book which is typically issued 12 Weeks prior to the event.

What are the rules regarding event logo usage on team uniforms?

Teams competing at a WFDF sanctioned events are permitted to use the official event logo on their uniforms only. Official logo must be no larger than 4”/10cm wide and can be used only once on any piece of official playing uniform. (Light and dark competition jerseys and shorts only). The official event logo may not be used on non-uniform aspects intended for wear/use off the competition field. (Hats, long sleeves, warm-ups, bags, etc.) Use of the official event logo on uniforms does not mean that any team has any official connection or representation on behalf of the event. The use of official event logo in ANY other form outside use on playing uniforms is strictly prohibited. The event logo may not be used for printing in brochures, on promotional materials, adverts or discs. Any team found in breach of the uniform rules found in Section C of the Rules appendix WFDF Rules of Ultimate - Resources, or in breach of the terms for the logo use will be referred to the WFDF Tournament Rules Group.

Addition of sponsor logos to team uniforms are permitted so long as the uniform, layout and design are all the same. Sponsors should not include sports nutrition, hard liquor, tobacco, and casino or gambling businesses.
